National Safety Month: What Safety Looks Like at PSACS
June 9, 2025Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Pro Scales and Construction Services. Whether we’re installing a truck scale, tearing out concrete or building something from the ground up, our first priority is always the same: making sure our team and our clients are safe.
We treat safety like a mindset, not a checklist. It’s part of our process on every project, big or small, and something we take seriously every single day. Because at the end of the day, nothing is more important than making sure everyone gets to go home in the same shape they showed up.
Here’s how we make that happen.
Safety-First Culture
Safety is something everyone owns. From leadership to the field crew, we’ve built a culture where speaking up about safety is encouraged and expected. If something doesn’t feel right or we see a potential hazard, we pause and address the situation.
We keep communication open and honest so we can tackle issues before they become problems. That culture helps us stay focused, stay sharp and protect each other on the job.
Industry Credentials
We’ve put in the work to make sure our safety practices meet the highest industry standards. We’re proud to partner with organizations that hold us accountable and keep us sharp:
- Avetta – Helps us meet compliance requirements and connect with safety-conscious clients.
- ISNetworld (ISN) RAVS Plus Participant – This means our written safety programs are verified, tested and put into action.
- SAP Ariba, Alliance and DISA – These platforms help ensure we’re qualified and ready to work safely across a wide range of industries.
We know these credentials matter to our clients, and they matter to us too. They show we’re committed to doing the job right, every time.
Training That Goes Beyond the Basics
From day one, our team goes through hands-on training that covers everything from PPE and hazard communication to equipment safety and emergency procedures. We make sure every crew member knows what to do, how to do it safely and what to look out for on the job. But it doesn’t stop there.
We hold regular safety meetings, toolbox talks and site-specific walk-throughs to keep everyone up to date. We’re also big on certifications—OSHA, lift training, CPR, confined space—you name it. If there’s a better, safer way to do something, we want to know about it and get trained on it.
Safety in Action
So, what does all this actually look like out in the field?
Every project starts with planning. Before we touch a piece of equipment or break ground, we walk through the job, identify any risks and make a plan to keep things safe. We discuss it with the crew, so that everyone knows what to expect when they enter the site.
Once we’re up and running, here’s how we keep safety front and center:
- PPE is non-negotiable.
- We check our tools and equipment before every use. If something’s not right, it doesn’t get used.
- We adjust to the conditions. Whether it’s heat, traffic or limited space, we don’t take chances.
- We hold daily safety briefings. Quick huddles to talk through the day’s tasks, hazards and updates.
- We track and report incidents and near misses. If we can learn from it, we take the opportunity to do just that.
It’s about creating a safe, predictable work environment where people feel confident doing their jobs.
Why Safety Matters for Our Clients, Too
We take care of our team because it’s the right thing to do, but it also benefits our clients in a big way. When safety is a priority, jobs run smoother. There’s less downtime, fewer disruptions and fewer headaches. Clients don’t have to worry about liability issues or compliance problems, and they can trust that we’re looking out for everyone on site.
A safe jobsite is also an efficient one. We plan ahead, communicate clearly and stay organized, which helps us stay on time and on budget. And when challenges do come up (because let’s be honest, they always do), we’re ready to pivot without putting anyone at risk.
That kind of trust doesn’t happen by accident. We earn trust project by project, and we don’t take it lightly.
A Part of Who We Are
We’ve spent years building a reputation for doing solid work, and doing it the right way. That means showing up prepared, staying focused and making smart decisions that keep people safe and projects running strong.
If you’re looking for a partner who takes safety as seriously as you do, we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
